Born in Texas to a colorful, medical family, Angie considers herself lucky to have spent most of the 1990s in Washington, DC and NYC. After inspirational stints in Madagascar, Senegal, and Sicily, she decided to study public health.
Fast forward to this life in 2024 where she divides her time between Los Angeles, New York and Texas. A nationally recognized expert in Infection Prevention and Epidemiology, she helped lead the global COVID-19 response for BuzzFeed and Netflix with her company's team of experts. Prior to this, she was handpicked to lead the first Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Infection Prevention project for ambulatory surgery centers. And prior to that, she worked in hospitals begging people to wash their hands.
Angie enjoys mentoring future Infection Prevention leaders and received the APIC Hero award in 2023 for her work on APIC's COVID-19 Task Force. She was nominated Healthcare Manager of the Year by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2014. She speaks French, Spanish, and Italian.
